Role playing?

I've noticed there's not alot of activity going on here, as the majority of it has simply been starforce three stuff. But now that hype has died and most threads, some boards, are untouched.

So I was thinking, what if we had an rpg section? I get along with all the members here, unlike most of the sites I visit, and I'm sure we all have some cool ideas for games/story's we would like to share. I really think it would bring some life to the bored.

I do not see it stated in the rules section as not being allowed. Now I could just be over looking it if it is there, but I don't think I am. Unless its classified as 'unhelpful' in which case it helps boredom.

I like the idea! But I'm not sure if its considered as a means of gain posts. (whatever) If not I'd do that on IM (when i'm on.....)

Well i'm not going to lie, I like the idea as well. I don't think it's the means of geting posts, maybe there should be a RP part to RAMV. I'm just saying what i think AHHH DON'T HIT ME(being random don't mind me)

Well I like the idea... although if it goes to Members section I won't be able to go there of course...

although its a very interesting idea, it shakes some things I have been RPing in otehr forums and they make those more popular and active

If its a post issue you could disable the means to gain post count in that thread. As for a members section only, do you mean like have joined the site, or have had that 50 post trusted deal thingy?

However SS, in the RPG world most GM's (game masters : the host:) will PM rewards, have character templates PM'd to them, and also PM other players if they have questions. The same can go for the players PMing each other to devise plans, ask for items for a trade, or just to talk about the game.

Yeah this has been brought up many a times during the history of RAMV and every single time it was turned down it was for the same reason: spamming. Role Playing will seem like an opening to some to get thousands of posts and uhhh XHunter doesnt really want that I think.

Like I said though, you could disable the ability to gain post count in that bored as a whole. Tis what all the other forums I go to do. Not to mention that if RPG's are spammed up, meaning less than five sentences a post, is discouraged and typically the GM gives out downgrades to plays like them. You could also make a main bored rule not to spam. It is an option, and I think it would be great.

I think its time for admin opinions now

In my opinion Rockman AMV is a site dedicated to Rockman and AMV's and it should be known for that.

I don't want people to join like this: So I herd you have liekable RP-Mudkipz.

Another point is that RP's usually attract the people that a serieus site doesn't want to have among its members.

As I said, its time for admin opinions, so I hope XHunter will give a final answer soon

Ok, I'm writing this from one of my college computer classes so I'll have to make this short and sweet.

I know that as of lately the activity here has been, well lacking. Mostly due to the fact that I can't add a lot of the content to the site that I want to add because I'm busy with college work. The stuff I want to add would probably get more people in here having fun again (Add clips / episodes from Stream).

Anyway, the idea of having an role playing forum is a nice idea, but as I've seen in the past, it attracts the wrong type of people and the forums usually get spammed with unreadable nonsense. And yeah, I can modify the forum to where there is a section of the forum built for role-playing in mind where any post made in that forum wouldn't count towards your post count, but still, I see the issue of attracting the wrong type of people to the forum who would spend most of their time spamming it.

So yeah, I'm going to have to agree with AGF on this one. But I really like that fact that you guys are openly discussing new ideas and ways to get the forum more active At this point I can't wait till Christmas break so I can spend more time with you guys. As it is, I have teachers who make me write one / two different 7 page eassys per week.

Anyway, I wouldn't count the Role-playing forum idea out completely. As many of you know, I tend to change my mind on things and I might find a way for this to really work out for the best of the forum when I have more time to look at all the angles. Oh, I could also disable the "Admin must enable account" setting so that people don't have to wait for one of the admins to enable their account, although to be honest I don't think people have had to wait too long to get their accounts enabled.

While were on the topic of forum improvements, what do you guys think of adding in a "Random Picture Thread Topic" where we share random pictures with one another that we found on the internet. Obviously there would be a no adult pictures restriction, but I think that a topic like that would be fun to have
