The Quest for Black Ace...
I think this topic is so funny that I must share it with my fellow Rockman friends.
So yesterday (July 20, 2009), I decided to purchase Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace, but first I have to a make a quick stop at the post office for my Yu-Gi-Oh! stuff. From my house, that post office is 4.5 miles away. Then I need to deposit some money into my debit card using the nearest ATM, and that is .5 miles away. So I made my deposit at BoA, and decided to go to the nearest Gamestop to buy Black Ace. The nearest Gamestop is at Lakeshore plaza. From BoA, Lakeshore Plaza is 1.5 miles away.
I thought not many people would go to Lakeshore Plaza for their game needs, so there would be Black Ace available, but I was wrong. Star Force 3: Black Ace was sold out, only Red Joker was available. So I was alright, I will go the next closest Gamestop, Stonestown Galleria, .8 miles away from Lakeshore Plaza.
So I walked into Gamestop at Stonestown Galleria, and ask for Black Ace. The man at the cashier checked and said sold out... So now I am pissed. I said to myself: "Dangit, is it really that popular? Alright, next stop (pun)." The next Gamestop I chose to go next is Westlake Shopping Center, 2.7 miles away.
I asked the cashier at Westlake, hoping they would carry Black Ace because it's not a very popular place. Turns out the only copy they have is the one on the shelf. I was thinking, if I'm going to pay $30.00 for the same game, why not get a new sealed one? So I was like no thanks. The cashier was cool, because he understood the feeling of opening something yourself. Okay... next stop Serramonta Shopping Center, and that is 4.4 miles away.
This shopping center has a Target and 2 Gamestops. So I went to Target to check, because no one buys games at Target. I checked through the glass window, and nope, they don't carry it. So I walked out of Target and into the nearest Gamestop, and that is .5 mile away. I asked, but like Westlake Shopping Center, the only copy they have left is on the wall. So I said no thank you again, and walk myself to the second Gamestop of Serramonte Shopping Center, 447 feet (.074 miles) away.
At last, they finally have it! I waited in line for awhile, but it was well dang worth it! The game cost me $32.79, but don't forget about the gas money... Finally I went home, and that was 4.7 miles away.
So let's do some math... Lakeshore Plaza, Stonestown Galleria, Westlake Shopping Center, Serramonte Shopping Center: Target, Serramonte Shopping Center: Gamestop #1, and Serramonte Shopping Center: #2. That is SIX stores!!! Now let's calculate the the driving distance (my house to the final gamestop and back to my house)...
4.5mi + .5mi + 1.5mi + .8mi + 2.7mi + 4.4mi + .5mi + 447 ft (.074mi) + 4.7mi = 19.674mi
I have visited six stores and traveled 19.674 miles for Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace, and that was my story... I'm going to go cry now. Thanks for reading.
