Squirtle's charged water attack and Mario's Down+B water stream attack... what the hell do they do besides push you a little bit? I don't see any damage or anything...

Mario's is meant to push you.....Squirtles, when fully charged, strengthens his other attack. The one when he like slides on the floor while in his shell.

You can use mario's water attack to stop someone from covering back to the edge of the map.

I don't have the game, but isn't Mario's water attack a replacement for his "towel attack" in Melee?
With that you could turn the enemy the other way, it was useless to me.
