There is a vary talented flash-maker out there who is making this MMX fan game. His usage of cutom sprites and overall game play is outstanding. Take a look.

Like I said above, this guy blow Bubbleman out of the water. Im really pumped for his game, and I think he's making it for download, perhaps in a ROM format.
Screen and sprites
Full Water Armor.
Magma Eruption Giga Attack.
Mixing armor parts can grant you side effects abilities.
