How to host your AMVs in MediaMAX!

So, I guess I am up to write the tutorial of how to get AMVs hosted on Mediamax... let´s go over the details, shall we?

Mediamax features over 25GBs of freewill hosting, but with a certain almost meaningless limitation, no downloads greater than 10mbs. How to solve that? follow the tutorial and you´ll be hosting AMVs completely free. =D

.- Hop over to www.mediamax.com and open an account, try uploading a small fime to get used to it.

.- Once you get used to how to upload, prepare your AMV for upload. If you have Winrar, be sure to right click the AMV, and choose "Add to Archive..." in the Winrar options.

.- Over in the option with a Drop-Down menu called "Split to Volumes..." click an ammount of Kbs, such as 7000000 to example it. Compress, and the AMV will be compressed in multiple parts of 7mbs until it covers the whole AMV.
As a special note, you will not be able to see the complete content of the file if you do not have all parts. Once you have all parts in the same directory, you´ll see the file like if it was in a single Rar file.

.- Upload the parts in Mediamax. Once you are done uploading, follow the following steps VERY carefully.

.- Over in the File Manager menu, click the Checkboxes corresponding to the files for the parts of the AMV. Once they are checked, click DOWNLOAD on the upper buttons right next to the UPLOAD one.

.- You´ll be taken to the Download page with your selected files. Copy the URL of each file, and paste it to where you can fix it up.

.- Each URL shall have a certain part after the Filename... ...ROLLheartSHINE.part1.rar?action=save. Delete the Yellow Javascript, and then use the URL as the Direct Download URL. Feel free to test it out, you should be able to download the file like it you were doing it for any kind of file.

Let´s recall what we did. We opened an account, split up our AMV into parts of less than 10mbs each that need to be together to access the whole file, and uploaded them into the account.
Then, we got the Download URLS with Javascript. Deleted the Javascript, and ended up with a fully workable URL for direct-linking. Symple, eh?

feel free to ask any questions if you have problems, I wrote this a little too fast since I am a little tired.

And since this proves to be very useful, this could be stickied since the issue with the Youtube case is gone, and your files stay for as long as you keep them on your account.

I may self have a MMP (Max Media Player) for my DS and its really helpful for showing off your AMV's while on the road.

I don´t know how that relates, but xD, I already tried out the MP3 player for the DS.

Yeah, it is mostly pointed for all kinds of AMVs, but I opened it in the Rockman AMVs as a strategy for the whole Youtube Anti-Rockman AMV wave. =D
