A proper AVI codec, and its settings?

One quick question about AVI coding... Which would be the codec for good quality, at a reasonable size? I have been trying to get some videos renderedin AVI, but some sizes have been ridiculous... 25MB for 5 seconds? no thanks.
If the Coding settings as the Bitrate is something important in that, which are descent settings for good quality, and reasonable size?
Thanks upfront for the help, I am trying to make a Twilight Princess AMV with the song titled "Godsibb" from Xenosaga Episode 3, and I need the quality to be good. =D
