Anime and school... heaven or hell??

The first time I talked to my friends about Anime, they all said I was weird. "Anime is for kids and computer freaks". I didn't realy care about their opinion, but it did hurt me in a way.
So one day I decided to do a class presentation on Anime, to explain to everyone what it was and where it came from. I thought I was making a complete fool of myself, but people actually showed interest in my story. I even managed to give the Anime-bug to some of my classmates :lol:

I doubt I'm the only one with such problems, so what's your story?

I really haven't had a problem like that because me and most of my friends are anime nuts

Anime these days has become so mainstream that I'm surprised that your classmates have never heard of it.

Most of my classmates make fun of my love for anime and even more so for my love of animegirls. But yea, I don't really care since anime became a part of who I am and I wouldn't be able to live without it.

I don't have problems like those because one of my best friends is a complete anime freak. He mostly likes anime for *H*, but he really loves anime.

I think age plays a roll too. If a 20 year-old says "I love pokemon", it'll be a different message than when a 13 year-old says it.
You shouldn't judge people by their opinion, but we all know how people are. >.<

well i know a guy who is 34 and still loves pokemon so who loves anime must do that i mean everybody loves something so its not that strange right?

I have alot of problems like that in school. People call me a loser for watching anime. People called me a loser for being #1 in the line for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl >>

People used to think I was a bit of a nerd for liking anime/ manga and videogames and what not....

but once people got to know me for me they found me to be a pretty cool person...so now I'm quite popular in my school....but one thing that made it easier for me was that I had friends (Like Cinos and Matt) who liked the same things as me and I didn't really have many problems...and now I'm meeting more people who like it too! ^.^

Don't ever listen to what other people have to say about you if it's bad or wrong...they have no right to judge you for the things you like. I' ve learned that myself over time.
