Rockman Exe - Program Of Light & Darkness Movie Subs

Yesterday I was surprised to find out that the Rockman EXE Movie my parents had purchased for me from Amazon.com had arrived and I was extremely happy.

So as a Rockman fan, what did I do (Well besides making and watching the movie off a back up so I don't ever have to use the original copy), I whirled the disc into my DVD Player (figure of speech, I didn't really whirl it into my DVD player) and started to enjoy the movie. Oddly enough, the movie contained three (3) different sets Chinese subtitles and one (1) set of English subtitles which was weird because I don't remember that being mention in the original release of the movie, but I guess I got the Chinese version of the DVD.

So being curious about how the English subtitles were done which I assumed were put into the DVD by the Chinese translators who also did the Chinese subtitles from the movie, I happily switched over to the English subtitles.

At first it appears that the English translations are spot on compared to those I've seen in the WPP fansub release. Unfortunately, as soon as Forte appears and starts to talk, you can instantly see that the translation starts to take a path of weirdness. I've upload some comparison screenshots of both the EXE Movie and the Fansub of the Movie to show you how they worded things, and maybe you'll get a few laughs out of it like it did.

My favorite quotes so far are "Enzan: Are you ok? Blues: No, master Yanshan" and "Netto: Duel Chip, magical fire cannon". I can't stop laughing from reading blues say that hes' not ok. Maybe he was thinking "Enzan tired to kill me, I'll get him for this!" or something along those lines.

Heres one last screenshot from the movie which is another part that made my funny bones hurt.

I assume that this version of the movie was translated into Chinese first and then into English which would explain why so many things are named differently. So this is a fine example of why its always better when making subtitles for an anime series, why you should always use the original spoken language as the main source.

[ Note ] Only the Subtitles are Chinese and English. The Menus, DVD Case, Video / Audio, etc... are all in the Original Japanese format.

At least.... we can only hope that the menus, DVD case, etc. are the original Japanese format, as compared to Japanese -> Chinese -> Japanese....

I think the groups out in the net shoult do the next subs >:D
they are much better then that amatures
I hope when the movie is comming out in germany " maybe in 10 years if it´s going on so fast as it is now" there is in the menu a sub menu and a good subtitle DX

I want the original japanese version of all the EXE/Ryuusei seasons only in german!!!!
