Shantae, the Half-Genie

Well, I was at Cinos/Fred's house for almost seven days, and one day we were searching the web for some cool pictures. Then we came across this video/review for this GBC title called "Shantae" developed by Capcom I believe.

The story is about a half-genie named Shantae who is attacked by a pirate named "Risky Boots" who tries to rule over the 7 seas with these magical .
gems or whatnot.

The game is a non-linear platformer. Throughout the game you will find power ups, hearts and such that will make the game easier for you. Also, since you're a half genie, you can use magic, such as magical attacks. You also can dance, which allows you to transform into different animals. The dancing is done by pressing "select" and hitting a sequence of buttons in rhythm with the music.

The graphics for a GBC game is top-ntch, then again that's expected, since the game was developed after the release of the GBA. The music is top-notch as well, and I must say I've enjoyed a number of it's BGM's.

They also had a demo for the sequel "Shantae Advance" but it was put on hold. Some speculate that it'll be released for one of the most recent systems/consoles, such as the Nintendo DS or even WiiWare, but we'll have to see.

Looks and sounds wonderful doesn't it? As far as I know, I will be buying any other game or sequel released for this title, since it looks so promising. Well, with all that said...DISCUSS!!!
