The Misadventures of Vile Vol II: The Holidays

The Misadventures of Vile Vol II: The Holidays

Postby VileMKII » Thu Dec 24, 2009 11:52 am

Twas the day not far ago, from the day of thy Christmas. Not a person was thoughtful, not a person was courteous. I ventured out, to go a gift shopping. Out to the snow and into the car, from the key to ignition, to the petal hitting the floor. I drove out in wonder of what I should get, perhaps she wants a shirt, or a knitting kit. Okay I need to end this poem like ****. So driving down a road is really no big deal, I mean I do it on a daily bases, hell I repo cars. I hit a red light, not really a big deal. But when it was green and I took off I realized I needed to be in the other lane. I flipped on my turn signal and slowed down a bit so that this person beside me would pass me so I could move into thy lane. But alas this bastard showed not that courtesy that I had hoped. Instead they stayed there and matched my speed. WTH, it’s the holiday season you would think that someone would have some simply thought prossess of “I should be nice and speed up or slow down because I can see his turn signal” but no, the **** just matched me. Angry I spend up and moved ahead of them, trying to avoid the obnoxious others who flooded the streets with their last second shopping and their concepts of “I have to be there now me me me me” Turns out the person I pulled in front of passed me and flipped me off! Once more, W, T, H?! What did I do? I gave them the chance to move ahead of me, I had my signal on, what more could they ask of? I allowed myself to cool off, thinking it was nothing because it really wasn’t.

So I arrive at my destination, thinking its going to be a wonderful time but once again I’m proven wrong. The mall I went to is entirely over crowded, making the whole area hotter than anything, and not that good kind of hot where you look at a chick in a bikini or a guy without his shirt, no this was hot like I’m inside the sun hot. Of course I can’t take off my coat, holding it is a annoying and tying it around my waist just looks plain gay on a guy, plus it comes undone easily, causing the coat to hit that nasty floor full of dirty melted snow water and other gunk from a random persons shoes. No thanks. And with that aside everyone seems to lose the concept of the whole, joy peace and happiness, and become jerks who just want this and just want that and shove you and brush past hitting your bags. It’s most aggregating at times.

Now this is where I begin to hate people. After buying something I typically tell them “Merry Christmas” Short sweet, to the point, and nice. But of course people have to find something to bitch at like they always do and that’s what they choose. I was yelled at because that person was an atheist and by saying merry Christmas I was implying that they were a Christian. I was a bit astonished. What’s so bad about saying merry Christmas? I thought it was tradition. That’s right, today tradition doesn’t mean anything. Once things get too good humans look for the smallest of things and start to pick at it, complaining. Don’t believe me? Look in your own history. Ever had that thing that you wanted for so long and then when you get it you say its great, amazing, then when you’ve had it for awhile you start to complain about it. Jobs are the easiest thing to do this with, so is a church, a video game, you get the idea.

So I wondered for hours on end as to why would someone be compelled to act such a way as this? So what if they are not a Christian, I’m pretty damn sure they have, and still do, celebrate Christmas. Why? Not because of the real reason, that you know Jesus was born on this day. (Not really but that’s what most think and believe) It’s just a huge commercial for people now days. “Let’s buy this”, and “I want that”, and “Why didn’t I get this?” How about no. Let us stop that selfish ambition we hold towards this holiday. Let’s be with family. Let us rejoice in the fact that we get two weeks off from school. Let us be glad that there’s a moment on this day, weather you want it to be there or not. Why put Merry X-mas instead of Christmas? I know that people do that to take Christ out of Christmas so there’s Jesus but really? Is that really what you think? You know without him there would be no Holiday. So if you do celebrate Hanukah, or if you do celebrate Kwanza, don’t take it offence if we wish you a merry Christmas. Just nod and say “same to you” it’s no hard. If you’re Atheist or agnostic, or anything else that holds the belief that makes you not believe in God, but you do celebrate Christmas. Don’t you dare inveigh to the phrase of “Merry Christmas.”

Your right! Just the other day I was at a walmart and didn't even get any "happy holidays", it wasn't until I said something did she reply "Merry Christmas". I always greet/bid farewell to someone with "Merry Christmas" and if they said something like "I'm Jewish." Then I'd say "Well then Happy Hanukkah good sir.". Things are going crazy around here nowadays. Christmas came up on me sooo fast I can hardly believe its Christmas Eve today! We must be the light in the seemingly never-ending darkness, be the 300 who stood their ground in the midst of change! A very Merry Christmas everybody and a megaful New Year!
