The Official Nintendo 3DS "Friends Code" Topic
Friends codes, an annoying feature that every Nintendo DS game had. What made this feature annoying? Well because you had to add a different friends code for each game you had and it wasn't as simple as adding a friend over any other peripheral. With the 3DS Nintendo has fixed the issues with the previous "Friends Code" system by making it to where you need to add your friend once per friend. The codes are no longer linked to each game, but to each system. Because of how the system has changed, this has allow Nintendo to add a few new features regarding friends lists. First off, after you and your friend add each other, when ever you have access to the internet, you will be able to view which of your friends are online and what games they are playing. This also means you won't have a dozen or more friends codes to exchange amongst your online friends. After you exchange the code once, you will be able to join games with your friends. They also made it to where if you connect with someone via local wireless, the exchanging of "Friend Codes" is done automatically. Now that I have explained how the new "Friends Code" system works, I expect this topic to be significantly shorter than the DS friends code topic. Although the 3DS has yet to be released, I figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and make this topic now so when it gets released in March, everyone will have a place to post this "Friends Code".
