Hmm... Just watched recently a nice mecha-anime, Eureka-Seven.
I love the reference they make between analog synths/drumboxes & mechas (mecha names are like Tr-707/Tr-808/Tr-909 [Roland Drumboxes], Ms-10 [Korg semi-modular monosynth] and SL-1200 mk-2 [yeah, the technics turntables

)

Btw, all mechas are designed by Mr.Shoji Kawamori (Macross)

Well, if u guyz love mecha-animes, i'd seriously reccomend y'all this one...
