How the virus works is the user is sent a link where the user will download a file (Sometimes automatically depending on how your MSN/AIM is setup) after the file has been downloaded. It will attack the MSN/AIM program and obtain login information, of course most people have their MSN/AIM set to remember their username and password so it makes it easy for the malicious software to do its job.
All it simply does is spam all the users on your buddy list with a generic message that allows other users to fall pray to its malicious ways.
Fortunate enough for me, I don't use the MSN or AIM client, so I'm free of all those malicious programs built to attack either client.
MSN, AIM, ICQ, etc viruses have been going around for years, so this is nothing new to me. They all pretty much do that same thing. Turning your IM client into a zombie spreading its' malicious code around the net.
The only thing you can do besides having a good Anti-virus program, is to not clicks links until you're sure that they are safe.
