I like...certain kinds of poetry. Alfred Lord Tennyson's "Charge of the Light Brigade" is one, "Jabberwocky" is another, and I've read and enjoyed any number of love poems. This one, however, is all my own work. I wrote it up at college, when faced with a choice between two women. Behold.
Loving Man’s Lament
Raven-dark tresses swallow the light
Silvery laughter on full, sweet lips
Hair of the flame shines in the night
Raven-dark phrases strike to the soul
Choosing tears, worry wears
Cannot see into the soul
Fear to stifle kindling fire
Fear to darken sparkling love
Loving both, yet choosing neither;
Love them all, choose one never.
